Unfortunately no herbals may be the best herbals for those planning a pregnancy.
The fact that most haven’t been tested in pregnancy, nor regulated in their production makes them less than ideal for use by women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or currently breastfeeding a newborn.
Even Kombucha, a great probiotic, is a fermented product. Thus it has small, but real, amounts of alcohol. We cannot endorse alcohol’s safety at any level for those trying for healthy pregnancy. Breastmilk has the same alcohol level as blood, so always be mindful of even small amounts.
Some herbal teas are probably safe, in that there is not data that they are harmful. True ‘safety’ studies have not been done.
Discuss with your health care provider what you may want to take. Be frank about what you want to accomplish, there maybe other healthy ways to treat symptoms or insure safe pregnacies!
